The new Understanding NAPLAN online video that has been developed primarily for parents is available online.
Draft 2 senior syllabuses available for comment
The second drafts of 35 redeveloped senior syllabuses are available on the QCAA website until 14 September. Consultation with teachers and the wider community is an important part of the redevelopment process. Your comments and suggestions are appreciated as the QCAA works towards finalising the syllabuses in December.
New video animates reforms to senior schooling
A new animated video for school staff provides an overview of the processes that will underpin Queensland's new senior assessment and tertiary entrance system, set to commence with Year 11 students in 2018.
STEM X Acacdemy
The STEM X Academy is a five-day residential professional learning program from 8-13 January 2017 in Canberra, ACT. It is open to primary and secondary teachers. Applications open until 16 September.
Digital Technologies MOOCS
The three new Computer Science Education Research (CSER) Massive Open Online Course (MOOCS) will all be available for registration by 1 September. Further information is available via the CSER blog such as the appointment of project officers to support teachers and a national lending library for schools.
Develop programming skills through a selection of online courses that are free and may get you started: Queensland Coding Academy, Code Academy and the Khan Academy offers free courses in Computer Programming and Computer Science.
ASEAN, India and Indonesia BRIDGE School Partnership Projects
Immersive and blended model of professional learning supports teachers and school communities to build an international school partnership with a sister school in Asia with links to the Australian Curriculum. Visit ASEAN BRIDGE program, India BRIDGE program,Indonesia BRIDGE program.
Barnardos Children’s Support Program
The 2017 funding round of Barnardos Children's Support Program (BSCP) Achieve grants is now open. Barnardos is a child protection charity that provides grants to assist children improve their education outcomes through better participation. Applications close 30 September.
Engaging Science Grants
The Engaging Science Grants support science engagement and communication projects, events and activities that increase the reach and impact of science in Queensland.
