Celebrating International Women's Day

Seven lucky girls from Year 10 (Jana, Ata, Chynelle, Rosemary, Pauline, Dominika and Rose) participated in the Australian Catholic University (ACU) International Women’s Day celebrations today.

Over a delicious breakfast they listened to an expert panel of successful women in the health, education and business industries and participated in a range of inspiring and interesting workshops in the fields of speech pathology, midwifery and economics.

The students were incredibly inspired by the personal stories of the ACU students who presented the workshops and  involved them in hands-on activities that stimulated their awareness that they too can #BeBoldForChange, which was the theme of the day.

A key point to come out of the day was that true equality for women results in equality for men too; when women are able to break that glass ceiling and achieve all they are capable of, the ripple effect is that the whole of society becomes a better place for everyone.

Every day extraordinary women are working to make our world a better place.
