Futsal Fever

The U19 boys futsal team showed exceptional character having the toughest group in their division they faced numerous challenges.

The boys had a start by losing narrowly to Robina SHS 5-4 and Clontarf SHS 4-3 to bounce back and beat Assisi College Blue 6-3 and Clairvaux MacKillop 7-2.

With results going in their favour they finished second in their group to make the semi finals, where they faced the number one school in Australia, Assisi College White. They came out and blew a 4-0 lead early going into half time with some strong character they fought with respect and closed the gap to a 6-3 loss placing them third overall.

The Junior Futsal U15 team played 6 games, won 4, drew 1 and lost 1, which meant they finished third in their group.

In typical Jimmies fashion they managed to beat the team who finished first, who just so happened to be the current Australasian champions in Futsal.

All the students represented the college with pride and commitment and played the game in the right spirit. They played great Futsal, if continued then success won’t be too far away.

The girls Futsal team played 4 games and came second in all of them, they did manage to score 2 goals. In football parlance, the first touch deserted them, the shape was wobbly but their efforts could not be faulted so the Gaffer was happy.  The team played Robina SHS, Clontarf SHS, Clairvaux and Peter Claver.

We are very proud of  all our teams, A massive thank you to Mr James Anderson and Mr Marty Wiseman who helped coach and support the futsal program. Please congratulate the stduents if you see them around the College.
