Jimmies Girls - 2016 AFL Grand Final

On Wednesday 11 May the Jimmies girls faced off against John Paul College (JPC) in their AFL Grand Final.

Our girls started the first half slowly and unfortunately gave away a fairly large lead to JPC. In the second half the girls found their rhythm and played really well, kicking three goals to one. A Jimmies comeback was on the cards but time ran out and they went down to JPC by a few goals in the end.

A big thanks to Team Manager Mark Holmes, Super Coach Greg (Hawks) Flint and Co-Manager/bus driver Ian for another great season.

This year marks five or possibly six years in a row where the Jimmies girls have made the Grand Final. We are very proud of their efforts and what was equally enjoyable and rewarding was the response of the girls after a hard-fought game.  Even though they didn’t win, their spirit was happy and buoyant.

We congratulate JPC on their Grand Final victory.  Well done all.
