Students at St James College recently had the opportunity to delve into the world of television and audio media, learning about news anchoring, delivering the weather forecast, and podcasting.

The full day of interactive sessions was led by an ABC Television team including Helen Wright, a seasoned TV Producer/Newsgathering Producer, and Jenny Woodward, Australia’s longest-serving weather presenter.

Students learned the art of storytelling and developed the confidence and poise needed to deliver news on television. They then put their newfound skills into practice by delivering news and weather forecasts and participating in a podcast episode.

Held in the college's Arts Centre Realta Theatre and podcast studio, the day concluded with a lively Q&A session. Students gained further insight into the world behind the camera and left inspired by the team's generosity and passion for their craft.
