Alumni and Arts Evening Brings Community Together
The vibrant 2024 Alumni and Arts Evening at St James College brought together students, staff, alumni, parents, and the broader community in a celebration of Jimmies talent, creativity, and connection.
The Tapa Arts Centre provided the perfect backdrop for an impressive display of student artwork, ranging from striking photography to intricate portraits, all showcasing the depth of skill fostered within the school’s art programs.
One of the highlights of the evening was Ruby Greenaway's stunning forest photograph, awarded the prestigious Principal’s Award, while Jawid Haidari’s expressive portrait of Adele earned the People’s Choice Award. Building on this year’s success, there are already discussions about including an alumni art category in future shows.
Principal Ann Rebgetz said it was a wonderful event that showcased emerging talent from St James College students.
The Realta Performance Theatre added another layer of excitement with live performances, featuring a lineup of Pacifica and Bollywood dancers, soulful vocals, and instrumental ensembles.
Alumni guests included elder Br Mick to recent graduate Mary Chol (Class of 2021), members of the Class of 2004, and past students now serving on staff including Atem Atem, David John, Jeremiah, Ahmed and Mariedelphi to name a few.
The evening provided alumni an opportunity to reconnect with old friends while witnessing the talent and spirit of current students.
