Notice to St James College Parents and Carers from Principal Andrée Rice

Dear Parents & Carers

Thank you for your support and patience as we have all navigated the last few days of the TC Alfred  weather event.

I am pleased to advise that our school will reopen tomorrow, Tuesday 11 March 2025.

Our property staff have conducted site inspections of our buildings, grounds and facilities and I am pleased to
report that we will be able to resume the important work of teaching and learning.

While we anticipate that the next few days might require some additional flexibility as staff and  students return, it is important for us to get students back into their study routines quickly.

Our teaching, academic and sporting staff will communicate any changes required to programs and events
through normal channels.

I trust that you and your loved ones have remained safe and well throughout this unique weather event for South-East Queensland. We recognise that some families will be continuing clean up efforts this week to  homes and businesses.

If there are any issues that prevent students from attending school, please advise our school via the normal absence notification process.

We continue to put student, staff and community safety at the centre of our decision-making and will keep you
informed accordingly as we return to usual operations.

Thank you for your ongoing messages of support and for the manner in which you have responded to this
dynamic event.
