At St James College, Harmony Day isn’t just celebrated once a year, it’s lived every day. In true Jimmies Spirit, students and staff marked Harmony Day with a series of vibrant events, culminating in the school’s inaugural Asian Festival.

With over 70 nationalities represented in the student and staff body at the college, students and staff proudly wore cultural dress, shared food and participated in activities celebrating the rich diversity of the college community.

Deputy Principal Kristina Johnson acknowledged the importance of Harmony Day to students, staff and families.

“Harmony Day is particularly important to St James College, where our Touchstone of Inclusive Community is lived daily – highlighting respect and care for one another.”

She also acknowledged the team effort behind the celebration.

“Thank you to the staff who assisted in bringing this day to life at St James with our inaugural Asian Festival,” Johnson added.

Harmony Day is a national day of celebration that recognises Australia’s cultural diversity and promotes inclusiveness, respect, and a sense of belonging for everyone. At St James, these values are part of everyday life.
