Junior Girls Team Clinch SEQ Metropolitan Rugby League Championship
The St James College Junior Girls Rugby League team emerged Champions at the recent South East Queensland Rugby League Metropolitan Finals for 2024. A fantastic win for a team that is on the move.
St James College Rugby Sport Development Officer Ana Fotu said the girls qualified for the final after defeating Bellbird State High School in the semi-final and faced a well-drilled Redcliffe State High School in the final.
“Our St James Girls were victorious in the end and were deemed 2024 SEQ Metropolitan Finals Winners for Year 9 Girls,”
"I was impressed with the team comradery, sportsmanship and skills displayed on the day," Fotu said.
Further, Fotu shared that the carnival unveiled several Junior players that the college is excited to see develop for the 2025 Opens Girls team.
The college rugby league program has welcomed seasoned player Brenko Lee as a Rugby Sports Development Officer working alongside Ana Fotu, and farewelled and thanked Blake Mara for his contribution to the program.
