Thursday, 23 Jan 2025

The St James College Rugby Academy is powered by two committed rugby sport development officers, Ana Fotu and Brenko Lee. With their combined wealth of experience and passion for developing student-athletes, they’re inspiring the next generation of rugby talent at St James.

Ana Fotu
Ana Fotu, St James College Rugby League Development Officer

Ana is an acclaimed women’s rugby league coach, recognised as the 2023 QRL Winner for Female Contribution to the Game. Her impressive career includes roles as an NRL Game Development Officer, Coach Developer, and Broncos Girls Academy Coordinator. She has also led teams such as the QLD City Under 17s and various community squads.

Ana believes team sport is about more than winning, it’s about “building a culture of high standards and values”. Her mentorship equips students with resilience, life skills, and the confidence to excel in rugby, in their studies, and in life beyond school.

Brenko Lee
Brenko Lee, St James College Rugby League Development Officer

Brenko brings elite-level playing experience to the academy, including being part of the Melbourne Storm’s 2020 NRL Grand Final-winning team. He has represented Tonga and played for top NRL clubs like the Dolphins, Broncos, and Titans.

Drawing on lessons from coaching legends Wayne Bennett and Craig Bellamy, Brenko instils discipline, strong habits, and a deeper understanding of the game in his students. His mission goes beyond training athletes, he’s committed to shaping future leaders and empowering students to succeed on and off the field.

Whether you're an aspiring rugby star or new to the sport, this is your opportunity to learn from the best.
