Notice to St James College Parents and Carers from Principal Andrée Rice

Dear Parents & Carers,

I am writing to provide an update in relation to our ongoing response to TC Alfred.

As per my earlier advice, our school was closed on Thursday and Friday in the interests of community safety and in accordance with the directions from the Queensland Government.

Given that this weather system has progressed more slowly than originally forecast and extended rain is now affecting power, access to roads and some of our buildings at school, St James College will remain shut on Monday 10 March 2025.

I can assure you that our College facilities management team and administrative personnel are working hard to ensure that we can return to normal routines when it is safe to do so.

We will always put student, staff and community safety at the centre of our decision-making.

I trust that you and your loved ones are safe and well, while dealing with this unique weather event for South-East Queensland.

Further updates will be provided as more information comes to hand from the relevant authorities.
