St James College Choirs Achieve Gold and Silver at Popular Music Festival
The St James College Junior Choir performed to a GOLD standard at the Queensland Catholic Schools and Colleges Music Festival last week, with the Senior Choir achieving a SILVER standard with their performance.
St James College Choir Coordinators Ms Hannah Flower and Ms Catalynne McAllister rehearsed tirelessly with the students in preparation for the festival.
“The junior choir sang two songs, Noqu Masu with Esther Silao and Sereana Tora taking solos, and The Blessing.”
“Both songs filled the church with a deep, round, soulful harmony that reverberated with the audience.”
“Many schools and families complimented us on our wonderful sound,” Ms Flower said.
The Queensland Catholic Schools and Colleges Music Festival (QCMF) is the premier event on Queensland’s Catholic Schools and Colleges annual music calendar and showcases the very best in music education, covering a diverse range of genres within the classical and contemporary styles.
