Women of the World Annual Luncheon Inspires Students to Achieve Their Goals
A group of Year 11 students had the privilege of attending the annual Women of the World WOW Australia luncheon at Custom’s House in Brisbane.
The event welcomed special guests The Hon. Quentin Bryce and the Hon. Julia Gillard spoke of their leadership experiences as Governor-General and Prime Minister.
St James College, Brisbane Director of Learning, Innovation and Pathways, Ms Jessica Turschwell said the luncheon was ‘inspiring to say the very least’ with the special guests sharing their journeys as they simultaneously held the two highest positions in the country.
Senior student Grace said of the session, “Hearing the struggles that Julia Gillard and Quentin Bryce endured as women in leadership and how they managed to overcome it and push past the misogyny and oppression really inspired me to work hard to achieve my goals.”
